I thought I’d lived a fairly exciting life, but this experience was beyond words. We saw so many whales. I cried tears of joy and gratitude. Thank you thank you thank you Ecotours Vallerta! John2024-01-29 We took a birding tour on 1/26/24 with Cynthia as our guide and just one other guest. She had been our guide on a whale watch last year. That tour was so wonderful and informative that we were thrilled to have her leading us on the bird tour. She was a fountain of knowledge on not just birds, but basically any question we had on the area. She stopped along the way at a local roadside stand and purchased coffee and several stuffed breads for all of us that had been freshly baked in a wood fired oven. The sweet potato and coconut varieties we had were so delicious on a chilly morning start. When we arrived at one of several stops, she used her keen eye and encyclopedic birding knowledge to point out so many species, many of which I couldn't even see, though she tried her best to help us. We joked that she had bionic vision, pointing out tiny birds hidden in bushes and sharing the view from her scope. She was so friendly and kind, providing snacks and drinks, stopping whenever one of us saw something interesting along the way. Though we missed many of the ones she spotted, I was still able to get a bunch of pics of birds I had never seen. Can't recommend Cynthia and Ecotours highly enough. You definitely get your money's worth. She even spotted several lizards sunning themselves in tree tops that we would have surely missed. Cynthia is everything you want in a tour guide, a fountain of knowledge and a friendly guide to help you locate those hard to find birds you'd very hard pressed to spot on your own. She even stopped on the way back at a lovely little local restaurant and bought us a delicious snack of chips, home made guacamole and a cold beer on a hot day. Really hit the spot. Fantastic tour and highly recommended. We will be repeat customers on every return trip to PV. Great tour! Anna Veronica Lacson2024-01-20 I came to PV in January because I wanted to see the humpback whales, who were in town for breeding/birthing season. I went with Ecotours. Prone to seasickness, I was wary of the small boat I saw in the pictures, but I'm glad I took a chance because I didn't get sick (two Bonines as a precaution and I was good) and the size of the boat meant we could watch the whales (and dolphins!) from a close but respectful distance. Saw a few noisy yachts follow these poor animals around the bay, but our captain was careful not to do the same. There wasn't a bad seat in this tiny boat either, as our guide Christina made sure that whichever side had a front seat to the whales remained seated while those on the other side could stand up and enjoy the view too. Respect for our fellow passengers and respect for the marine life we all came there to see. Glorious day. Happy to support this operation! Jack Litzau2024-01-18 Michael is a wonderful birding guide ( and a great marine bioigy guide). Safe driver, personable, knows birds and much more. Michael is thoughtful and articulate. We had a wonderful day. Ilana Trumble2024-01-18 We did the whale watching tour and it was the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Cynthia, was super knowledgable and friendly. It was amazing to see these beautiful creatures up close. It was really cool to use the underwater microphone to listen to the whale song. The smaller group size is a huge plus. Also, it is great to support an eco friendly company. One thing to note is that there is no bathroom on the boat, so plan accordingly. Overall, cannot recommend enough! Susie Wyshak2024-01-17 Become an expert in everything about humpback whales with Ecotours, which also helps whales thrive at sea. Our guide Cynthia had an incredibly deep knowledge of whales, and our driver was awesome and took us off the beaten path to go find whales that no other tour boats were around. She even put a microphone in the water a few times so we could hear if the whales were making the famous humpback singing sounds. We also saw a few turtles floating around and lots of dolphins. I would do this again and again with Eco tours and highly recommend them. You will leave in awe with all sorts of cocktail conversation about whales. hebah emran2024-01-07 Whale watching was amazing ! We saw 15 whales, Maggie and raffi are the best! I totally recommend. Terry Nash2023-12-30 The 830a whale watching tour was excellent! Our guide Michael and captain Rafael led us directly to whales and dolphins in the bay. Michael narrates the tour in excellent English and is a knowledgeable guide! Jo Patman2023-12-27 We did the 8:30am whale watching tour. We have been out with Ecotours before and we were not disappointed this time either. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke to us throughout the tour answering questions and sharing her knowledge, not just in the briefing before hand. We were on a smaller boat which was great and we got really close to some of the whales. The driver always kept a safe distance and was mindful of moving off again ensuring he could see which direction the whales were moving in so we didn’t cause them any distress. We were extremely lucky and saw around 13 whales on this trip, some extremely close and one even fully breaching the water. I would highly recommend this company. Layla Bouzoubaa2023-12-26 Great whale watching experience! They left on time and served us a small lunch of sandwich with guacamole. Recommended!
