Los Arcos

Declared Marine Park, the area includes four rocks or islets, several low banks and a canyon that almost reaches 5000 feet deep, being one of the deepest points of the Bay. Immersions in this area can be from 10 to 90 feet, making it an excellent place for all levels, from beginner to advanced divers. The area is characterized by its great variety of reef fish, the presence of nurse sharks and turtles, morays as well as beautiful and impressive underwater rock formations. The boat trip to Los Arcos is approximately 35 minutes from Marina Vallarta.

Majahuitas

This is a beautiful beach of soft sand surrounded by rocky bottoms. Located on the south coast of Puerto Vallarta, you can access only by boat and its calm waters are an ideal place for diving or snorkeling. Here, immersions can be as deep as divers want. One of the most notable inhabitants of this site are garden eels, in addition you can see rays, morays, tropical reef fish among other marine organisms. The boat trip to this dive site is 45 minutes from Marina Vallarta.

Chimo

Chimo is a small fishing village located on the south coast of the bay, with breathtaking views of the forest and mountains once in the water. Divers with experience enjoy this place better, due to the presence of some currents. The rock formations and corals are very attractive and provide refuge to dozen of fish species, congregated in huge schools, as well as many invertebrates in and around the reef. Giant manta rays are found very often in this place, making it one of our favorite diving sites. Boat trip to Chimo takes about 90 minutes from Marina Vallarta.

Marietas Island

Located near Punta Mita, this archipelago is formed by two big islands and several islets, as well as some rocky shallow banks. Declared a Protected Natural Area since 2005 and Biosphere Reserve since 2008, the archipelago houses more than 90 species of marine birds, both resident and migratory. Due to its volcanic origin, erosion left behind several caves and caverns, some of them submarine, where sea turtles and nurse sharks can be found resting. On the reefs around the islands inhabit several species of sponges, echinoderms and of course multicolored tropical fish of all sizes and shapes. The boat trip to this diving site takes about 60 minutes from Marina Vallarta.

El Morro

This site is a small rock located north of the bay, considered part of Marietas Island Protected Area. Due to its location, the presence of strong currents is very common, so dives here are recommended only for experienced divers, although these conditions also make it incredibly rich and diverse. El Morro is densely covered by marine invertebrates such as gorgonians, sea fans, sponges and sea squirts. A special visitor is the giant manta ray and encounters with this fish are frequent here. The boat trip to this dive site is approximately 95 minutes from Marina Vallarta.

La Corbeteña

This rock is located northwest of Puerto Vallarta and, due to its position, is considered one of the best places for fantastic encounters with pelagic beings, such as dolphins, giant manta rays and even sharks. This site is recommended only for experienced divers, since arriving at the site takes time and once diving the presence of strong currents is very common.
